RED Restorative Justice Program

Creating Classrooms Out of Courtrooms

At RED, we create a classroom atmosphere inside the courtroom and treat our program participants as students rather than criminals.

Our curriculum is structured to develop the social, civic, and financial literacy of our program students through task-oriented learning, engaging workshops, and interactive educational modules. We pair each one with appropriate mentors based on their individual-needs intake assessment, who will support them in their personal development and guide each one in completing the program requirements. Upon graduation, we expunge their records and refer them to higher education institutions and/or employment opportunities. We’re all about giving everyone who enters our program a second chance to succeed and achieve their goals!

“Life before RED…was a mess…chaos. My life would be different if not for RED…I feel like my life is going in an upwards direction now.” – Chrystian, 2022 Graduate

“A little over a year ago I was definitely a different person. Through RED…I have become a different pillar in the community.” – Blake, 2022 Graduate

Rethinking Rehabilitation

How RED’s Program Empowers Participants

At RED, we believe in a different approach to rehabilitation. Rather than treating program participants as criminals and punishing them for their mistakes, we see them as individuals who are capable of growth and change.

Our program is designed to empower participants, giving them the tools they need to succeed in life.

Through task-oriented learning, engaging workshops, and interactive educational modules, our curriculum is structured to develop a participant’s social, civic, and financial literacy. We focus on building skills and knowledge that will help them succeed in life beyond the courtroom.

In addition to our curriculum, we provide participants with individualized support through mentorship. Our mentors are paired with participants based on their individual needs and goals. They provide guidance and support throughout the program, helping participants complete requirements and achieve success.

Through our approach, we aim to break the cycle of incarceration and provide participants with a second chance at life. Our program is not just about rehabilitation, but about empowerment. We want participants to leave our program feeling confident and capable, with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed.

In a world where the criminal justice system often perpetuates the cycle of incarceration, RED is rethinking rehabilitation. We believe that everyone deserves a second chance, and we’re committed to helping program participants achieve success in life. Our program empowers participants to become the best version of themselves, and we’re proud to be a part of their journey!
